After a number of years with the same entrance, Auburn Botanic Gardens was due for a fresh, revitalised entry way. Greater West Landscapes was engaged directly by Cumberland City Council to deliver this new element of the Botanic Gardens.
The area involved a new circular entrance with wall hanging plants and a small pond. Extruded brickwork and copper piping were incorporated in the wall for a distinctive water feature. The in-situ concrete walls were imprinted with a varied number of natural vegetation elements for a unique end result. The existing arbour structure required a major lift due to its significant age. Greater West worked closely with Council and its nominated architect to ensure that the arbour was re-created as close to the original as possible.
The result of this project is a striking, embellished entrance for a picturesque urban space.
